Ecstasy Drive

If you are looking for something to go from Dumble type tones to Bogner type tones, you have found it...
I GUARANTEE IT!

-Brian

Earlier this year, I was working on creating a pedal that would go from clean tones to distorted tones while adding a bit of warmth. I wanted something for myself that would be dynamic, have a great sounding "gritty" tone to it yet be able to have a large amount of gain if I should need it to.

While breadboarding the circuit, I came up with this:

I started getting quite a bit of email asking about it. After tweaking over the last couple of months, the pedal is finally ready to release to the masses...

Current lead time is about 5 weeks.

Customer Email:
"Brian,
Wanted you to know that I received my Ecstacy Drive a week ago and man did you hit the mark!. Not only does this do the Dumble sound well, the entire way that this pedal interfaces with my Bad Cat amp is phenomenal. Very touch sensitive and the string definition is the best I have played or heard. It feels and sounds like the crunch channel in a lot of multichannel amps I’ve used including BadCat, Marshall, Rivera-the sounds are open and they breathe.

You seem to have a great ear for music and the technical knowledge to translate the sound from your head into a pedal. I have lots of OD pedals including Chandler (which is the best EJ I have been able to dial up although it took me a while to get it-don’t have his fingers). The Ecstacy Drive can get there as well.
I have adjusted your Ecstacy Drive Pedal to go after other sounds and am convinced it sounds better for SRV and other classic tones than 808, TS-9, Sparkle Drive and Visual Sounds J and Hyde. Your vibe is just more musical and allows the natural sound of the guitar to come thru.

Congratulations to you! I Am looking forward to my Pinnacle 2 as well. I am seriously thinking of ordering another ED so that I can have different levels of gain dialed up on my board ready to go. Your pedal is like my Bad Cat Tone Cat- sounds so luscious, I just can’t stop playing it!

Regards and thanks,

Hi Brian,

Got the Ecstasy pedal yesterday, and it kills!  Awesome, very versatile pedal.  I tried it with all my guitars (67 Firebird, 82 ES 335, 67 ES 330, and 08 faded flametop LP w/ Peter Green mod)  Its great with all, especially with the LP in the middle position (PG) I can dial up the Cream Disraeli Gears womantone on the Dumble side, and original Fleetwood Mac fat singing clear blues tones on the Ecstasy side!!!  With all my amps the same result.. (Carr Hammerhead 212, Vox AC 15, and 68 Pro Reverb)  Its a pedal I think I can leave on all the time, and just work my volume / tone knobs....

FINALLY, I can retire my old TS 808.  I have owned a buttload of stomp boxes, from Klons, to Fulldrives, Tone Pumps, and COTs and this baby lays waste to all of them.  Its impossible to get a bad sound from this pedal!

Thanks for your dedication to tone, and keep up the good work!!!

"brian...i picked up an exctasy drive after checking out your youtube vids...
and i just have to let you know how nuch i love it... it absolutely kills...
both the xtc and dum sides sound great...but i'm addicted to the dum side...
doesn't matter which amp i choose...just a few tweaks and presto !...killer tone...

it sounds great in my reissue marshall 4 inputter...and especially nice in my fullertone twin v10 tweed combo... in fact, a friend came over last sat. to jam a bit...and called me tuesday
evening to say that he'd been thinking about the tone i had with the xtc, fullertone and les paul ever since he left sat...

he'll probably be ordering one soon, if he hasn't already...
he asked me for the youtube links and the website before he left...
thx for making a great product...i'll be spreading the love to all my buds
for sure...

"great job on the ecstacy drive. This is an extremely versatile pedal.I have had it less than a day and have not even hit on all the tones I believe this pedal is capable of doing.I will never buy another pedal that does not have a bass control on it.I have never owned a dumble and don`t have an itch to buy one

Hey Brian!

Hope you are having a LARGE 2008. I just had a sec and wanted to thank and congratulate you on the Ecstasy Drive pedal. I recently got one and it really is making everything else I own sound like crap.. :) I'm serious. I haven't had a drive pedal inspire or blast me out of the water like this in a LONG time--and I've had one of everything. I got it initially for my very clean but loud JTM 45 head (Ecstasy side), but I found that it really calms down and makes my very ticked off Roccaforte 50 watt head more musical (Dumble side) and sweeter.

After a 1 1/2 hiatus from gigging. I have a very cool classic rock band that I'm playing with. Hopefully, I can send you some good clips of the Ecstasy in action shortly!! :)

Take care---YOU are the MAN---please go insure your ears for 500 million $$$!!
