Cory Wong is a grammy nominated artist who is renowned the world over for laying down some of the finest grooves in rock, jazz, and funk. He is a heavy hitter but with a precise clean tone that commands you to get up and dance – his playing is so infectious it has been classified as dangerous in the wrong hands. The Wampler EGO has been a big part of Cory Wong’s signature tone for a long time, providing the light touch required to subtly drive the best from his tone, so it was a natural starting point for this pedal. But he needed some very specific features. He needed it to have an XLR out so he could go straight into a mixing desk or House PA for those signature bright and clean tones. Cory also wanted to add a boost that allowed him to choose either a flat volume boost or a rich, saturated boost that could push his tone further.
