Tumnus Deluxe
With the first iteration of the Tumnus, Wampler perfected their take on the sound of THE myth…

“With the Tumnus Deluxe, you can still get that original classic Klon sound or you can tweak it further and get a sweet overdriven tone that touches on distortion.”
With the Tumnus Deluxe, Brian has set a new standard. Thanks in large part to the design’s articulate-sounding buffer, all of the clarity, punch, and detailed breakup of the original Tumnus are still there. But if you prefer the sound of true bypass performance, just hit the switch on the side of the pedal for uncolored tonal purity. Brian also injected the Tumnus Deluxe with a level of tonal flexibility not previously available on this style of drive. Active bass and mid controls, as well as a regular treble control (the same as the pedal it was inspired by), encourages you to sculpt the tone from this pedal to the demands of your rig. Whether you’re boosting a driven amp or another pedal, using the pedal as a stand-alone overdrive, or crowning it your “always on” tonal sweetener, you’ll find the Tumnus Deluxe’s wide-ranging controls make it much more than just another clone. The Tumnus Deluxe delivers all the string-to-string clarity, high-headroom output, and amp-like breakup that made this style of overdrive pedal so iconic. But its 3-band EQ will enhance your tone with warm low end, instantly identifiable midrange, and just the right amount of top-end sparkle. Unlike some other similarly voiced pedals, the Tumnus Deluxe has enough tonal control to perfect your sound through any rig. The buffer inside the Tumnus Deluxe sounds so good, you might just find it enhances your tone whether the pedal is on or off. But Wampler knows that some players prefer the clean signal path of true bypass operation. With the Tumnus Deluxe’s side-mounted buffered/true bypass control, attaining that uncolored sound is as easy as flipping a switch.

A Modern Classic
There is a reason this circuit has gained the reputation it has – it provides the perfect high headroom overdrive to send your tone into the place you’ve always dreamed it would go. It will bring out the harmonics you didn’t know where there, it will bring out the sustain you never thought possible and most importantly, it just makes EVERYTHING sound better.
Always the Right Fit
If you want a pre-gain boost to fatten up your tone… the Tumnus Dluxe delivers. If you want a standalone overdrive…. the Tumnus Deluxe Delivers. If you need an end of signal dirty boost to make you cut through the noise and have your solos wail… the Tumnus Deluxe delivers. It doesn’t matter if you want to fatten up your pedals, push your amp or just need a beautifully organic overdrive – the Tumnus Deluxe delivers.
Not just another Clone
Taking the legendary response and dynamics of the Tumnus, we added not only an active bass and mid control, but the option to have the famous buffer of the original, but also True Bypass…a hot switch gives you extra gain at higher levels, making the Tumnus Deluxe the most versatile and powerful pedal in its class.

Great tone with low gain or with the gain turned up, my new go to pedal! I like it better than the standard Klon or other OD pedals.
Pepe –
The only one that with transducer at the bridge saddle (Carlos Juan) , in a baritone nylon flamenco guitar, sounds like a wall of marshalls. And also very important , that I dont have to worry or choose what and how I play ,the chords. It just Rocks.
JBert –
I picked up a T.D. used at GC… I put it on my board 10 minutes before playing. (I know not a smart thing to do…) but I did. It took me less than 5 seconds to dial in a tone that’s pleasing and so rad. To those who are looking for that “K” tone with a little extra sauce. Get it. Thank you Brian for such a great pedal.

Does anyone know what the input/output impedance rating is on the Tumnus Deluxe buffer? (I’m hoping 1M on input and 100 or less on output, but cannot find any details on that).
This is quite simply the best sounding K type pedal I have ever used. I love the extra tone shaping options on this one, and the tumnus deluxe has far more clarity than some others I have tried. I also love that I can use it as a clean boost with the gain turned all the way down and the Level up. When I try that on other K type pedals they get muddy. Just a fantastic OD/boost pedal!

Such a beautiful overdrive…
Chip Bassett –
Tumnus Deluxe can go from a nearly transparent boost to serious overdrive with the switch. Very usable gain range. Sound is never harsh and the overdrive is nicely responsive to what you do with pick attack, guitar volume, etc. Tone controls are great, although turning the Mids up past 2:00 starts producing a cocked wah type sound. Works nicely in front of another overdrive with gain at noon or less.
Christopher Fleischer –
The good: Pedal sounds amazing. Eq controls are very effective in dialing in your tone. Hot switch is great. I wouldn’t say a huge gain boost but it seems to color the tone a bit differently in a good way. I much prefer it on the hot setting. Tons on gain in this pedal as well. Sounds are top notch. I run this in front of a lightspeed and the pair is just heaven for me.
The bad: The switch is scratchy. This is my second Wampler pedal and first with the non click smooth switch. I am not sure if they are all like this or I just got a bad one but it’s really disappointing. It’s not super loud and not every time it’s switched but it’s definitely there and definitely annoying. I have tapped the switch a bunch to see if I could make any technique changes with my feet because I really want to use this pedal but no luck. Just randomly scratchy sounding when turning on and off. I have Earthquaker peals with the soft switch that you can tap and hold and even those don’t do this. It’s a shame because I love the tones but it’s going back and I’m too scared to try another. I wish Brian just used the old fashioned stomp switches that are tried and true. I have no issue with those.
Wampler Pedals –
Hi there, We have no issues with those switches in general so maybe you have had a bad pedal? Drop us an email at help@wamplerpedals.com and we’ll definitely look into it !
Niklas Karlsson –
Just wow! My first true botique pedal did not disappoint. Such a smooth transfer from almost no-gain to intense rock territory. Use it last in my stack of OD and it made those pedals actually worth their pennies too. Next to my compressor this is an always on pedal for sure! Best EQ on a pedal i have ever tried also.
Jamie M Harrison –
I use it mostly as a preamp or color box but I also use it as a drive pedal occasionally. It plays nice with other pedals and is very versatile. It’s almost always on. Very warm sounding but still maintains the sound of your hands.
Brett –
Never off my board. Stacks with most anything. A Big Muff into the TD……
Brad Richardson –
I live in an apartment and have to use IR’s, I love how this pedal adds extra dynamics. It cleans up when played lightly then barks and compresses just slightly in the nicest way when digging in. I live the tone controls, I can dial down the harshness of my tele without it sounding muffled. With a little of bit gain dialled in on the amp and on the Tumnus I could get long sustaining leads that were crisp and articulate. It’s the sound that I’ve been hearing in my head. This pedal is awesome and is a keeper!
Michael Hecker –
Incredible low to mid gain drive. Even better clean-ish boost. I run mine in the FX loop. The deluxe offers more control but both the standard and deluxe are spectacular.
Kevin Bowdler –
It’s my always on pedal. Turn the gain down, great cleaner sound. Turn the gain up, great overdriven rock and roll sound. It the ONE.
